Education and growth are key factors at Little Real Estate.

Property Managers are required to have a wide range of skills. Their days consist of many various tasks from admin, to problem solving, while keeping a consistent and great connection with tenants and landlords.

At Little Real Estate we also believe that our company culture is an integral part in providing a memorable and successful experience for everyone involved.

To find out a little more about what it’s like being a Property Manager at Little Real Estate, we spoke to Justine Hanna from the Helensvale office. She has worked at Little Real Estate since February 2019 where she started training in the Property Manager Bootcamp.

It only took her three months to progress into a property management role with her own portfolio.

What does a day in the life of a Property Manager look like?

“There is so much talking to people every day. You deal with such a variety of people – everyone needs to live in a home, right? One of the best quotes I’ve heard about real estate is that ‘everyone owns a property and everyone lives in a property – whether you’re an owner, a tenant or you’re selling or buying, every walk of life is dealing with real estate’. And that’s what I love most about my job, it’s nice to be able to talk to so many different people.”

“Property management is organised chaos and that’s also something I like about my role. No day is ever the same, and you’ll have a plan for the day but you’re constantly readjusting, and I enjoy that.”

“You’ll always come across something that’s new, so you’re constantly learning which is great. 10 years down the track you’re probably still learning more and more.”

What interested you (or stood out) about working for Little Real Estate in particular?

“The bootcamp and training was the main factor that stood out. How much effort the company is willing to put into their employees was great. They put so much energy into training and growing their staff and that really stands out and makes you confident in your ability to do the work. You also have the opportunity to ask questions and not feel silly. No one ever belittles you and the culture here really stands out. You feel so comfortable.”

What motivates you each day?

“I’m someone who loves goals and being able to achieve new accomplishments. In a bigger company like Little Real Estate I can cross train between various departments, I can work upwards, and I have the ability to try a new avenue of the company, and that’s what motivates me.”

As one of the company pillars is fun – What has been some enjoyable or memorable experiences you’ve had since working at Little Real Estate?

“So many! The team is hilarious. There is always so much banter. Since lockdown has ended, we have played paintball, lawn bowls, and celebrated a colleague’s 40th birthday at their house. We have such a great team dynamic that we can all go out for a drink or a meal and it’s never forced or awkward. We also participate in things at work like bingo, or virtual Friday wine time.”
